Teaching Resources

Over the last ten years, J-PAL has offered its Executive Education course in a number of different locations. This five-day program on evaluating social programs provides a thorough understanding of randomized evaluations and pragmatic step-by-step training for conducting one’s own evaluation. In addition to offering the course in person, J-PAL also offers a free, online version of the course as a MOOC over the edX platform. The teaching materials from these and other J-PAL courses are available in this section, organized by the following topics:
1. What is Evaluation?
2. Outcomes, Impacts, and Indicators
3. Why Randomize?
4. How to Randomize
5. Sampling and Sample Size
6. Threats and Analysis
7. Cost-Effectiveness Analysis and Scaling-Up
8. Generalizability
